Postnatal and Lactation Care (Tendezwa)

We offer high quality postnatal care which is crucial for maximizing maternal and newborn health. We also help breastfeeding mothers find the way to breastfeed that works best for both her and her baby.

Postnatal care visits is an opportunity for TAF Care specialist to facilitate healthy breastfeeding practices, screen for postpartum depression, monitor the newborn’s growth and overall health status, counsel women about their family planning options and refer the mother and baby for specialized care if necessary, among other services.

Lactation Care visit is where TAF Care specialist will address issues like poor milk supply, breast pain and sore nipples, trouble latching, finding a comfortable nursing position, refusal to feed, poor infant weight gain, falling asleep at the breast, problems pumping breastmilk, engorgement etc.
